Join us the first Saturday of the month for a Bible Study Group. We select a discussion topic and analyze Bible passages that show the relevance of the Scriptures in today’s world.
When: Every first Saturday of the month, at 11 a.m.
Next meeting: Saturday, February 6 at 11 a.m.
Topic: “Grace for grace” (John 1:16)
Facilitator: Christian Harder
Description: Grace is a fundamental concept in Christianity. The word is one of the most common in the New Testament, occurring well over a hundred times and in all but four books. The definition of grace in the New Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible is typical, reading in part: “The signal demonstration of God’s goodwill toward humankind in the person of Jesus Christ and the effects of that goodwill in human lives.” But does that give the full picture of what the word meant to those who wrote and first read the New Testament?
Some passages to consider:
John 1:15, 16
Rom. 6:14, 15
II Cor. 9:8, 11–15
